Real Madrid are the reigning Champions League holders, having won the competition for the 15th time in June 2024 at Wembley Stadium following a 2-0 win over Dortmund.

They kick off their defence of Europe's most prestigious club competition against another German side in the form of Stuttgart, who are currently sat in tenth place in the Bundesliga, with four points from their opening three games.

So, without further ado, join Ladbrokes as our team of experts share their preview, betting tips and predictions for the big Real Madrid v Stuttgart game in the Champions League.

Fans expected Real Madrid to blow teams out of the water following the signing of Kylian Mbappe as a free agent this summer, but things have started smoothly for the Frenchman and Los Blancos.

The Spanish side have only won three of their opening five domestic teams, and fans haven't been too convinced by the partnership between Mbappe and Vinicius Jr, with the talented attackers both looking to occupy similar spaces.

However, Real Madrid will still fancy their chances of beating Stuttgart on Tuesday evening, and the odds from the bookies do reflect that confidence.

Stuttgart shocked the world by finishing second in the Bundesliga last season, behind the invincible Bayer Leverkusen adn ahead of domestic giants Bayern Munich.

On their day, Stuttgart are a top team, and they showed that with their performances last season. However, it remains to be seen whether they'll be as potent after losing star striker Serhou Guirassy to Dortmund in the summer.

In 42-year-old Sebastian Hoeneß, Stuttgart have one of the best young managers in the world, and what a statement it'd be if he's able to pull off the impossible and beat Real Madrid in first-ever Champions League tie.

The big news for Real Madrid heading into their opening UCL tie is that Jude Bellingham might be available for selection again, having returned to training following a foot injury, but he may have to come on off the bench.

The same can be said for Aurelien Tchouameni, who is also expedcted to be avaliable to be picked again after missing games in and around the most recent international break.

Brahim Diaz, Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Ceballos are all out though, with Carlo Ancelotti unable to pick any of the three for the game against Stuttgart.

Mbappe will start in what will be his Champions League debut for Real Madrid, having already scored 48 goals in the competition for Monaco and PSG.

Deniz Undav, who joined the club on a permanent deal from Brighton in the summer, is expected to lead the line having scored his debut goal of the campaign against Gladbach at the weekend.

Undav will partner Ermedin Demirovic up top, with the latter having scored two goals this weekend to take his tally to five for the season for both club and country.

We predicted Real Madrid to beat Stuttgart in our first Champions League 24/25 acca of the season, but we're going to go one further here and say Los Blancos score three or more goals en route to picking up all three points.

It's true that Mbappe, Vinicius and Rodrygo haven't clicked as expected, but it's just a matter of time before it all falls into place for three of the best attackers in the world, and we think that could be against Stuttgart on September 17.

We do think Stuttgart find the back of the net though, so we're also including a bet for Real Madrid NOT to keep a clean sheet as they kick off their 2024/25 UCL campaign against the German side on Tuesday evening.
