Sara Cox favourite to replace Chris Evans on Radio 2

Sara Cox has been installed as the early frontrunner to take over from Chris Evans on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

After Evans announced he’ll be leaving for Virgin Radio, Cox is just 2/1 to take over the morning slot.

Cox already has her own show on Radio 2 and has filled in for Evans in the past.

Simon Mayo is next in the betting at 4/1, with Jo Wiley a 6/1 shot.

Graham Norton is also a 20/1 outsider to host the UK’s most popular radio programme.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Attention turns to Chris Evans’ replacement and the early signs point towards Sara Cox, who is already proving a popular pick with punters.”
