UK odds-on to have coldest night of the year this weekend
Published:
You’ll want to wrap up warm this weekend as our traders are expecting the coldest night of the year to come.
It’s now odds-on at 1/3 for the chilliest night of 2017 to be recorded before Monday.
The mercury is dropping and it’s 5/4 for this December to be the coldest since records began in 1910. The current record-holder is 2010, which had a mean temperature of a numbing -1 °C.
The UK is expected to be even colder than Iceland this weekend. It looks like the cold weather is here to stay – it’s 6/4 for this to be the coldest winter on record.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “The weather might be freezing but the odds definitely aren’t and as the temperatures drop, we’ve once again been left with no choice but to slash odds on December being a record breaker.”
