Wednesday’s ATP Finals tips: Zverev or Djokovic to bag their second win?

Novak Djokovic

Yesterday’s results mean Kevin Anderson is on top with two wins from two.

Roger Federer avenged his defeat to Kei Nishikori with a straight-sets victory over Dominic Thiem.

But it’s now the turn of both Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev where something has to give.

Marin Cilic and John Isner meet in the late match, as they each go in search of a first victory.

Will Djoker do the business this afternoon? Here’s all you need to know ahead day four.

Novak Djokovic v Alexander Zverev (2pm)

The master versus the apprentice.

While Zverev has all the hallmarks of a future world number one, it’s Djokovic who’s the dominant force right now.

The Serb humbled the energetic German 6-2, 6-1 in Shanghai last month and is 1/6 to bag the win.

A first set bagel from Djokovic is 40/1.

Zverev has beaten his opponent in the past, he’s 5/2 to bag the first set. The 21-year-old is 4/1 to pull off the win.

Marin Cilic v John Isner (8pm)

Marin Cilic will have to shake off the disappointing collapse to Zverev to stay in the semi-final picture.

The Croatian giant has only ever won a single match of the ten he’s played at the end of season showpiece.

He’s 8/15 to re-write the record books with a win over John Isner.

However he faces the powerful American, who’s making his debut at the event.

Isner’s serve does attract much attention but his improved movement and ground strokes mean he’s a big threat at 6/4.
