MLS has a bumper fixture list, Western Conference leaders Seattle Sounders host Real Salt Lake (03:00). Eastern Conference leaders New England Revolution host the New York Red Bulls (00:00).

HORSE RACING

Five meetings across the day with the action coming from Nottingham, Newcastle, Newmarket, Leicester and Hamilton.

GOLF

Paul Casey has already recorded two top ten finishes in Majors this year and as the PGA Tour continues with the Travelers Championship, Casey will be aiming to be in the leading pack. On the European Tour it’s the BMW Championship in Munich with Sergio Garcia among the names in action.

US SPORTS

In the NBA, Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks begin their play-off series in the Eastern Conference finals (01:30).

In the NHL, Tampa Bay Lightning can seal their spot in the Stanley Cup final if they can beat New York Islands (01:00)

FOOTBALL

With the football world waiting for the Round of 16 at Euro 2020 there is still some competitive football action today which includes four games in the Irish Premier Division. Nothing separates Saint Patrick's Athletic and Shamrock Rovers at the top, both on 34 points with the same goal difference. St. Patricks are away at Waterford United (19:45) with Shamrock at home to Drogheda United. Both will be looking to keep up the momentum in their challenge for the title.

HORSE RACING

There is a decent mixture of racing today. This afternoon the action comes from Yarmouth and Doncaster on the flat and there is jump racing from Cumbria as the picturesque course of Cartmel stages an eight race card. then in the evening they go at Newmarket, Newcastle and Chester. Ireland's sole card comes from The Curragh this evening.

FORMULA 1

Free practice gets underway at the Styrian Grand Prix, the first of two back to back races at the track. The race was named as such as Styria is the state of Austria that the Red Bull Ring is located in and red Bull will be hoping for a great weekend at their "local" race with Championship leader, Max Verstappen, full of confidence after driving his Honda to victory last week in France.

GOLF

There is second round action on both sides of the Atlantic with the BMW International from Golfclub München Eichenried in Munich where the ever popular Andrew 'Beef' Johnston has put himself well in contention with an opening, bogey free, round of 66 on day 1.

TPC at River Highlands is the venue for the Travelers Championship in Connecticut where World Number 1 is the defending champion and he tees it up with two other big hitters, Brooks Koepka and Tony Finau
