The 102nd National Football League (NFL) season gets underway on Thursday 9th September, just 214 days after Super Bowl LV, as defending champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers host Dallas Cowboys at the Raymond James Stadium.
The National Football League features 32 teams from all over North America, with each team scheduled to play 17 regular season fixtures across 18 weeks, extended for this year from 16 matches. During that period, each team will also have a bye week.
The league is split into two conferences, named the National Football Conference, or the NFC, and the American Football Conference, or the AFC. Each of those conferences is split into four sub-divisions, which are the West, South, East and North.
After the regular season has finished, 14 teams will compete in a Playoff format to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy. These 14 teams will be made up from eight Divisional title winners and six Wild Cards.
The Playoffs will be contested over three rounds, starting with the Wild Card Playoffs, where the top seed from each Conference is given another bye week. It then heads to the Divisional Playoffs and AFC/NFC Championship rounds, before the one remaining team from each Conference heads to the Super Bowl.
Whatever American Football odds you’re looking for during the regular NFL season, or the Playoffs, we’ve got all the latest odds and markets available at Ladbrokes.
