Which types of Pool do we cover?

Although the equipment used to play Pool is the same, there are different game types that are played in different tournaments across the world.

Eight-ball Pool is the most common game type played, and is the type which covers the tournaments we have on offer.

Played with a rack of 15 balls, either solids and stripes in the US, or reds and yellows in the UK, the aim is to pocket your rack of seven balls followed by the eight-ball black before your opponent.

Other less common Pool games that can be contested are Straight Pool, which is a straight 15-ball shootout with the winner determined by a points system and One-Pocket Pool, where each player is assigned a pocket and that’s the only pocket they can legally pot in.

Which Pool tournaments do we cover?

At Ladbrokes, we cover the biggest and best Pool tournaments from around the globe, featuring the top players in the sport.

That gives up the opportunity to offer the most comprehensive odds and markets around, with plenty of markets for you to choose from.

Ultimate Pool Masters

The Ultimate Pool Masters Championship is one of the major Pool tournaments on the calendar, with the UK’s best players competing to win in the International eight-ball rules tournament.

The matches are set to a 50-minute match clock, or a race to eight frames, whichever comes first. A 45 second shot clock is in operation for the first 40 minutes of the match, with the shot clock dropping to 15 seconds for the final 10 minutes.

If a match is tied when the clock hits zero, a six-red shootout decides the winner.

64 players are split into 16 groups of four, with four players featuring in mini knock-out style tournament, featuring a semi-final and a final, each night to progress to the last 16.

Once in the last 16, the knock-out style tournament will be repeated again over four nights to whittle the players down to the final four.

On Finals night, there are two semi-finals that take place to give us our finalists, before the Grand Final takes place to crown the winner.

In the build up to the tournament, we’ve got comprehensive outright markets available on the action, as well as In-Play odds as the matches take place.
