Bet on Blackpool vs West Brom – Huge opportunity for Baggies
Just how good have West Brom been so far this season? The best they’ve been in 27 years arguably, seeing as that was the last time that they went six top-flight games unbeaten.
In Monday night’s televised Premier League tie they visit Blackpool, the one team who prevented the yo-yo experts from playing the part of pre-season relegation favourites.
If the match has a winner, it will have an impact on the table that nobody foresaw back in August – a West Brom triumph (6/4) will see them in the top four with over a quarter of the campaign gone, while a Blackpool victory (9/5) will leave all three promoted sides in the top half.
It’s 23/10 that the spoils will be shared and that’s perhaps the most likely outcome given that Blackpool are still without a Premier League win at Bloomfield Road, while the Baggies have taken the full three points from just three of their last 46 top-flight away outings.
Roberto Di Matteo’s men impressed at the Emirates and Old Trafford admittedly, however while the obvious assumption is that after performing well in those big games, they will find this easy, complacency can’t be ruled out, while Blackpool have only once lost three in a row under Ian Holloway.
In terms of goals betting, it’s difficult to ignore the 8/11 on over 2.5 goals. Of the combined 18 league matches that these clubs have contested this season, all but six have had three or more goals. In addition, the Seasiders’ three as hosts have produced a dozen goals!
Given that trend and the reasoning behind backing the draw, over 3.5 goals is worth considering at 15/8, while the 2-2 draw also holds appeal at 14/1.
In terms of goalscorer betting, the Baggies may have chief goal-getter Peter Odemwingie back after an injury absence, though as the Nigerian forward may start on the bench, the best option may be to take the 11/2 on him being the last goalscorer.
The former Lokomotiv Moscow man is 7/4 to score at any time. See the whole Blackpool vs West Brom match betting odds market.
