MK Dons have capabilities of bouncing back from recent losses

| 24.11.2010

Although not amused, MK Dons boss Karl Robinson still believes that his club can challenge for League One promotion this season, despite their two recent heavy defeats.

The Dons have slipped to 33/1 to win League One after their recent losses against Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield, where they conceded a combined eight goals.

This has also resulted in them falling down the League One table from a share of third spot to 12th in the standings.

The reverse against Sheffield Wednesday was their first at home, but Robinson feels that the club have plenty to learn from the losses and this can be turned into a positive as they attempt to make up the ten-point deficit on current table-toppers Brighton.

Robinson told the official MK Dons website: “Teams at higher levels than us have gone through runs where they concede a lot of goals, but they move on to improve individually and collectively and that will be the case here.

“The players work hard regularly so we have to draw a line under it and move on.”

Meanwhile, the MK Dons can also be expected to improve as some of their first-team stars return to action after a spell on the sidelines, including Sean O’Hanlon and Aaron Wilbraham.

The fact that the MK Dons are out of the FA Cup may serve to be beneficial as they have over a week to prepare for their next League One outing against Plymouth.

Another positive for the Dons in their quest for promotion to the Championship is that Millwall went on to win the play-offs last season after finishing third in the final standings, and they to had 26 points after 18 games of the campaign.

A £10 bet on the MK Dons to win League One would lead to potential winnings of £330. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
