Man Utd new title favourites without even kicking a football

Manchester United are the 13/8 favourites to win the Premier League after Chelsea failed to take advantage of Sir Alex Ferguson’s side not playing this weekend.

A late goal from Jermaine Beckford handed Everton a point leaving them with four draws in their last six games, but Carlo Ancelotti’s side now have just one win in their last six Premier League games.

Which has led Chelsea to drift out to 7/4 to win the Premier League despite being odds-on at the start of November.

Ancelotti’s side face a tough Christmas period and face Tottenham, Man Utd and Arsenal in their next three games.

But despite the difficulty of those three games, they could be just the tonic as Chelsea look to emerge from their slump.

Arsenal moved a point clear of Man Utd at the top of the Premier League thanks to a double from Samir Nasri, the player of the season so far is now on eight league goals and is a 20/1 shot to win the Premier League’s top goalscorer award.

But while Nasri is an outsider in the top scorer betting market, Arsenal are most definitely front runners for the title, and the 7/2 available for Arsenal to win the Premier League offers plenty of value.

With the top three all playing each other throughout the month of December, it’s hard to predict who will start 2011 as the Premier League leaders.

Arsene Wenger’s side travel to Old Trafford but host Chelsea at the Emirates and whoever emerges at the top of the Premier League come the end of December, will be the team to remove from the top of the table before May.

Man Utd are currently in the ascendancy according to the Premier League betting market but expect plenty of twists before the season ends.
