Bet on marauding Blackpool to pile on misery for Wolves

Published:

This would have been pencilled in as a crucial relegation clash at the start of the season. It still is for Wolves, but – while they’re not completely out of trouble yet – Blackpool will not be unduly worried about the threat of the drop.

Wolves started the season full of expectation after surviving in the Premier League last year and splashing some serious cash over the summer. However, as we head into March, it’s Blackpool who are flying high and should build on their Spurs win earlier in the week.

Match Odds

Wolves have an absolutely abysmal record against teams from the bottom half of the table. They have picked up just one win against teams lower than tenth this term – a 1-0 win at home against Birmingham in December.

It’s Wolves’ form against the top teams that have kept them in touch at the bottom, with their 2-1 win against Manchester United at the start of the month being their last victory.

Blackpool meanwhile have been pretty steady, but it’s their away form that has impressed the most. They have five victories on the road already this term and found their form again with a 3-1 victory over Spurs at the start of the week. The Seasiders look a great bet at 10/3 to win this clash.

Total Goals

Despite the pre-season predictions, Blackpool have more than held their own and – incredibly – boast the fifth best attack in the league. Their free-flowing attacking style has left them vulnerable at the back though, and they also ‘boast’ the second worst defence.

With the seasiders last two away games yielding 13 goals in total, backing over 2.5 goals at 4/6 looks well worth a bet.
