The League One sides to back in your Tuesday accumulator

Published:

It’s been an interesting start to the League One season, with Charlton leading the way from Sheffield United who have started strongly following their relegation from the Championship.

We fancy United to win again but are steering clear of Charlton who face a tough trip to fourth placed Colchester.

In fact, with difficult away games for many of the in-form teams, there are only two games that look worth including in any accumulator – here’s who we think will do well in the Championship and League Two.

Scunthorpe to beat Oldham @ 8/11

Oldham have started their season in poor fashion, losing their opening two games against Sheffield United and Yeovil Town.

Meanwhile, Scunthorpe have drawn their opening two encounters 1-1 following their relegation from the Championship.

They may have had the worst home record in the second tier last term but they were still able to defeat Premier League new boys Queens Park Rangers and Swansea City at Glanford Park.

It might not be the most glamorous tie of the day, but backing Scunthorpe to overcome the League’s bottom side should add to your winnings.

Sheffield United to beat Walsall @ 4/6

Following their relegation to League One, life in the third tier appears to come naturally to the Blades with a brace of 2-0 victories to begin their campaign.

Walsall have also started quickly with a win and an away draw against Hartlepool United.

However, the Saddlers only stayed up last season by one point and ‘boasted’ the third worst away record in the third tier.

United should have enough to come through and claim all three points in this clash.
