Liverpool back in to 6/4 to finish in top four after Everton win

Liverpool’s good start to the season got a whole lot better on Saturday after a convincing 2-0 derby win over Everton.

Their task was made a lot easier by referee Martin Atkinson’s decision to send off Jack Rodwell for a tackle on Luis Suarez that was neither a red card nor a foul.

Liverpool were well deserving of their victory tough and goals from Andy Carroll and Suarez made the points safe.

Liverpool are now in at 6/4 to finish in the top four and make it back into the Champions League.

Things aren’t as rosy for Everton who have drifted out to 16/1 to finish in the top four after their third defeat of the season.

Meanwhile, Norwich have remained steady at 4/5 to be relegated after their spirited but ultimately fruitless game against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

It wasn’t the most fluid display United have put in this season, but they got yet another three points at home and are still favourites to retain their Premier League title at 4/5.

However, Manchester City were extremely impressive yet again against an admittedly poor Blackburn team.

Roberto Mancini’s men ran out 4-0 winners with Mario Balotelli putting in another solid display after starting for the Citizens.

It was a big win for City after the mid-week Carlos Tevez saga and showed there is a lot more to them than big wages and big egos.

City are currently 2/1 to win the Premier League and are looking more and more like potential winners.
