Tevez could end his Man City freeze-out with Inter Milan switch

Carlos Tevez has failed to make a first-team appearance for Manchester City since way back in September, having allegedly refused to come off the bench in a Champions League tie away to Bayern Munich.

Now the unsettled forward, who cited homesickness as the explanation for his will to leave Manchester, could finally get his wish, with Inter tabling a €25 million bid this morning.

While a transition across Europe wouldn’t automatically resolve the Argentinian’s desire to be closer to his family, he would at least receive some game time under Claudio Ranieri, whose Inter outfit have improved markedly in recent weeks.

The Italian giants won away to their biggest rivals AC Milan at the San Siro at the weekend, to complete a sixth consecutive victory as their Seria A resurgence continues in the aftermath of disappointing early season form.

Now, Ranieri is testing City’s resolve as he looks to bolster the firepower he boasts in the likes of Gianpaolo Pazzini, Diego Forlan, and Tevez’s Argentinian international teammate Diego Milito.

As City chief Roberto Mancini has outlined in recent weeks, even he must now sell before he buys, and the Italian is very keen to enhance a squad that has been hit with injuries and players departing for the African Nations Cup.

It would prove difficult for the Eastlands outfit to resist a deal that would see them relinquish the salary of one of the club’s highest-paid players, especially considering that the diminutive forward isn’t being utilised in any meaningful capacity.

New Paris Saint-Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti is also reportedly keen on offering Tevez an escape from Manchester, but is yet to make a firm offer to take him to France.

With the Tevez transfer saga and mooted moves to potential suitors being touted for several months now, this January transfer window could finally see him make his switch.
