Money-back if Arshavin rediscovers European championship form

| 07.06.2012

With Russia set to kick off their Euro 2012 campaign against Czech Republic on Friday night, Ladbrokes price forward Andrei Arshavin at 5/2 to score at any time.

The former Arsenal star rose to prominence in the last European championships, where a series of sparkling performances caught the eye of several leading European clubs, and leading Arsene Wenger to pay a fee believed to be in excess of £10million for the attacker.

He notched on two occasions during that tournament as Russia made the semi-finals, and may prove a tempting bet as a first scorer on Friday’s match at 8/1.

With Ladbrokes offering refunds if Arshavin scores at any time though, some may choose to look elsewhere for options to break the deadlock.

Several Russian attackers will be familiar to Premier League fans, and Tottenham striker Roman Pvlyuchenko shares favouritism with Fulham loan star Pavel Pogrebnyak as 7/1 chances for the opener.

Meanwhile, Aleksandr Kerzhakov is also 7/1, which is appealing in light of his 23 goals in 32 Zenit appearances last term.
