West Brom v Tottenham: Spurs can end winless run with win

Published:

Tottenham Hotspur travel to the Hawthorns looking to get their first win in four games – and they should do just that.

Their 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Leeds United aside, Spurs haven’t actually been in too bad a form.

They may have drawn their last three league games but picking up points at home to Manchester United and away to Norwich and QPR shouldn’t have the Spurs faithful too worried.

It’s 9/4 that they extend their run of three consecutive draws in the league to four against the Baggies but they should have enough to pick up all three points here.

West Brom haven’t beaten Spurs in any of their previous six encounters and the north London side dispatched them 3-1 at the Hawthorns last season.

There is also the small matter of West Brom’s dreadful recent form.

Steve Clarke’s men are without a win in seven matches in all competitions and have not been able to keep a clean sheet since mid-December.

Despite having the third best home defence in the division, West Brom have shipped two at home against both Fulham and Aston Villa in recent weeks – two teams whose attacking prowess doesn’t come anywhere near Spurs’.

However, Emmanuel Adebayor is still missing and, while goal markets may look pretty tempting, it’s probably best to stick to the straight match odds for this clash.

Back Spurs to win at a very decent 6/5.
