Radwanska is big value to reach Wimbledon semi finals

The quarter finals of Wimbledon are now upon us and the absence of the three biggest names in the women’s draw has left the tournament wide open.

Sabine Lisicki and Agnieszka Radwanska are the highest seeds in their respective last-eight matches in the top half of the draw and although the tournament has been full of upsets, these clashes can follow the script.

Sabine Lisicki to beat Kaia Kanepi 2-1 @ 11/4

Having knocked out Serena Williams in the fourth round, this has almost certainly be factored into Lisicki’s price of 1/3 to beat Kaia Kanepi.

In truth, there is not a massive amount between this pair and certainly not enough to warrant a price discrepancy of 12/5 on Kanepi winning.

However, there may be some mileage in Lisicki triumphing in three sets, with both players being taken to a decider in half of their matches at Wimbledon thus far.

Kanepi has shown a weakness before in getting across the finishing line in big matches, most notably when throwing away match points against Petra Kvitova at this stage in 2010.

Lisicki is the slightly more ruthless of the duo and this alongside her added confidence can see her edge through.

Agnieszka Radwanska to beat Na Li @ 6/5

It is understandable as to why Na Li comes into this quarter final as the favourite at 4/6 as she has won four of her last five meetings with Radwanska.

Meanwhile, Li was among the first confirmed quarter finalists too, dropping only two games in seeing off Roberta Vinci. In contrast, Radwanska was the latest out on court and had to recover from a set down to get past Tsvetana Pironkova.

With no day off between these two rounds, Li’s easier passage through and greater rest could be significant, but Radwanska must be considered the value bet at the prices.

Not only is she the highest ranked player left in the women’s draw as the fourth seed, but she also reached the Wimbledon final last year, whereas Li has never previously done better than three quarter final appearances.

Additionally, their head-to-head record this year stands at 1-1, but it is worth noting that Radwanska has secured the most break points on each occasion and does seem the better player on grass.
