Both teams to bag as Oldham ease past Mansfield in FA Cup

After gaining an impressive draw at Oldham, Mansfield now host the Latics as the pair fight for the dubious reward of a FA Cup third round tie at Liverpool.

The League One visitors are 7/5 to win the replay, with Mansfield 15/8 and the draw priced at 23/10.

The draw at Boundary Park arrested a run of four straight losses for the Stags and they followed it up with another stalemate away at AFC Wimbledon.

However, Oldham have lost just once in their past eight games in all competitions and won three of their last four on the road, including at Wolves in the previous round of the FA Cup.

While the Latics should progress comfortably to the tie at Anfield, there is value to be had in backing both sides to net at 7/10 given their awful defensive record.

Oldham have kept just two clean sheets in 19 league games this term and have only produced one shutout in 13 matches in all competitions.

Both sides have scored in 10 of their last 12, something that has also been the case in five of Mansfield’s last seven, and the hosts will be confident of bulging the onion bag on home soil having notched at Boundary Park.

Oldham and Mansfield both impressed in the FA Cup last season, with the latter exiting at the hands of Luis Suarez’s Liverpool and the Latics actually managed to best the Reds before eventually being knocked out out by Everton

Each will be keen to try their luck against Brendan Rodgers’ side again this time around but it is the visitors who have the best chance of boarding a bus to Anfield on third round day.
