Dons, Preston and Tranmere backed in League One accumulator

Published:

The games are coming thick and fast at the business end of the League One season and this weekend offers hope for plenty of teams looking to cement their status in the third tier or make they way up to the Championship.

With that in mind the Ladbrokes news team has put together a home treble paying out at over 6/1, which tips wins for MK Dons, Preston and Tranmere.

A £10 stake on these three returns £71.66 but with the One Out? Our Shout! Offer returning losing stakes when one of your five or teams lets you down, why not add Peterborough and Leyton Orient for odds of 20/1?

MK Dons to beat Crawley @ 9/10

The Dons remain in the play-off hunt and six points off sixth place but will need to build on a win last time out to approach the run-in in good form.

Just one win from seven home games is hardly inspiring form, but with Crawley this weekend’s visitors the hosts look a safe bet to win.

John Gregory’s side are now just three points above the relegation zone after a dismal run that has seen them lose five games on the bounce.

They have lost five and drawn two of their last seven away and with MK winning the reverse tie 2-0 look doomed to slip further into the relegation mire.

Preston to beat Carlisle @ 4/7

Preston have arguably little to play for with automatic promotion looking beyond reach and the play-offs pretty much sewn up.

However, the winning feeling is vital at this stage of the season and the visit of a Carlisle side above the drop zone on goal difference alone is too good an opportunity for three points to turn down.

North End have lost just one of their last 11 home games and are unbeaten in six in front of their own fans.

Carlisle, however, have picked up maximum away points just once in 15 attempts, losing 11 games in that awful run.

Tranmere to beat Shrewsbury @7/5

Rovers will look to put their off-field issues behind them with a much-needed win over fellow strugglers Shrewsbury in order to ease their relegation fears.

Tranmere are above the drop zone on goal difference but could overtake the Shrews who are safe by just a two-point cushion.

The hosts can rely on a solid home platform, having lost just one of five at Prenton Park, while the Shrews have won just once in nine away games and have failed to score in five consecutive matches away from Greenhous Meadow.
