Harry Redknapp Jnr set to be family’s latest football success

Ladbrokes have been quick to react following the news that Harry Redknapp, grandson of his famous managerial namesake, has been signed by AFC Bournemouth.

Seven-year-old Redknapp Jnr has been put up by the bookmaker as a 33/1 shot to play for any one of either West Ham, Liverpool or Tottenham in the Premier League.

And long-term punters can also bank on Harry’s prospective professional career blossoming even further with 100/1 quoted for the youngster to go on and score for the senior England side.

Described by Bournemouth’s technical development officer Matty Holmes as “direct, strong and a good little goalscorer”, Redknapp Jnr will turn out for the club’s under-nines side next season as he continues his progression.

Holmes went on to tell the Bournemouth Daily Echo: “So, with that in mind, and the fact that he comes from a footballing family background, we feel he has a great chance of progressing in our system and that is why we have offered him a contract.”

Will the Cherries’ latest protégé go on to emulate the likes of granddad Harry and uncle Jamie?

The former started his professional playing career at West Ham before going on to manage the club between 1994-2001.

Meanwhile, son Jamie’s illustrious career highlights included high-profile stints at both Liverpool and Tottenham with his 17 appearances for the national side yielding a solo strike.

And if Harry Jnr goes on to make further use of his family connections and emulate those achievements, savvy Ladbrokes customers will be the first to toast his success.
