League One accumulator: Preston and Peterborough in for wins

Published:

A dodgy Doncaster display coupled with Bradford City firing blanks on Saturday may have put paid to our last League One accumulator but we are back with a fresh new fourfold paying big this week.

Backing wins for Chesterfield, Preston, Peterborough and Notts County could leave you seriously counting the cash, with this fourfold available at odds of just over 25/1. Read on to get the lowdown on the four contenders.

Peterborough to beat Sheffield United @ 7/5

The Posh impressed last time out with a hard-fought 3-2 win over MK Dons that made it two wins from two for Darren Ferguson’s charges.

Next up is a home encounter with Sheffield United, who suffered a second successive defeat in League One, losing 1-0 to Coventry at the weekend. The Blades have never won at London Road and could struggle to cut through an attack-minded Peterborough side here.

Chesterfield to beat MK Dons @ 11/8

The Spireites have made a bright start to life in the English third-tier, taking maximum points from encounters with Leyton Orient and Rochdale so far this term.

On paper the visit of MK Dons to the Proact Stadium looks a tricky one to call but with the visitors proving patchy on the road, with no wins from their last three away games in this division and six goals conceded in their opening three fixtures this term, the hosts could do the business.

Preston to beat Doncaster @ 6/5

Doncaster put in a disastrous display at home to Port Vale on Saturday, with three goals shipped before the break in a 3-1 loss to the League One strugglers.

The visit of Preston is unlikely to provide much in the way of respite either with the Lilywhites enjoying a positive start to the season, having picked up wins in their two fixtures played away from Deepdale in both the league and cup.

Notts County to beat Colchester @ 11/10

Neither Colchester nor Notts County have impressed so far in League One this term, but the hosts can be confident of success over the Us given the apparent hoodoo they hold over their opponents.

The Magpies have won each of their last five meetings with Col, scoring six goals without reply over the two fixtures played last term and despite home defeat to Fleetwood at the weekend, a 1-1 opening day draw at Preston suggests Shaun Derry’s team are the ones to back.
