League One accumulator: Oldham and Bristol City back again

Published:

With Euro 2016 qualifiers in full swing, you would be forgiven for thinking that we would be taking a break from English football for the week – but you would be wrong.

Just because the Premier League and Championship sides feel the need to rest up doesn’t mean the rest of us will with a full schedule of fixtures on the cards in League One.

Featuring some sleeping giants in the form of Coventry, Sheffield United and Oldham high-flying Bristol City and the ever-entertaining Gillingham, backing this 40/1 fivefold with Ladbrokes comes highly advised.

And don’t forget – should just one of the five fail to win, then you will receive your original stake back as a free bet.

Bristol City to beat Chesterfield @ 17/20

The Robins bounced back from conceding a late equaliser at Walsall last week to win 3-1 on the road in the Football League Trophy.

Unbeaten in League One this term, City will be gunning for a fourth straight win at Ashton Gate when they take on Chesterfield, who have just one win from their last four.

Coventry to beat Crewe @ 6/5

Bottom of the table after a run of four defeats and 14 goals conceded in League One, Crewe should be easy pickings for Coventry, with the Alex winning one of seven at home this term.

The visitors will be in confident mood too after beating Exeter 3-1 in the Football League Trophy and won on their last visit to Alexandra Stadium.

Gillingham to beat Scunthorpe @ 23/20

A run of four straight defeats saw Scunthorpe part ways with manager Russ Wilcox this week and the misery could continue for the Iron at Priestfield Stadium.

The Gills are unbeaten at home in League One this term and beat Scunny 4-0 the last time these two met at the ground, making a home win more than likely.

Oldham to beat Walsall @ 6/5

There’s little to separate these sides in the standings but with Oldham losing just once in 10 League One outings at Boundary Park, it’s the hosts who should be backed.

Walsall, by contrast, have gone eight games without a win on the road in this division and recently shipped four goals to Rochdale away from home.

Sheffield United to beat Leyton Orient @ 23/20

With Russell Slade now sworn in as Cardiff manager, Orient are adjusting to life without their popular manager and could be in line for a third straight loss in League One.

The Blades boast a fine record at Bramall Lane with Sheffield United coming out on top in each of their last three home outings in the division and look good for the win here.
