Premier League Darts: Home crowd to spur Bunting on
There is no shortage of superlative scheduling in the Premier League Darts with both of the previous weeks bringing us the kind of contests that cause the lips to purse with excitement.
The third week of the tournament is no different as it moves to Liverpool’s Echo Arena, the effective home ground for two of the field.
Dave Chisnall, who puts his unbeaten record on the line against the similarly triumphant James Wade, will be one beneficiary of raucous Liverpudlian support, with the other featuring in our rundown of the best bets for the night:
St Helens native Bunting will have the majority of the attending crowd behind him as he looks for a second victory over Taylor since joining the PDC.
His displays in the competition so far indicate that he’ll be a tough opponent to beat for the Stoke icon, and his price in the double chance market is glisteningly tempting.
A spirited 6-6 draw with James Wade on the opening night was followed with a 7-3 loss to Michael van Gerwen, but The Bullet averaged 103 in that encounter and had opportunities to extend proceedings.
The headline match on the evening’s card not only repeats the World Championship last-four battle, but the final of the German Darts Championship this past weekend.
Van Gerwen blew Anderson apart with heavy scoring in that recent Hildesheim battle – which lasted just 10 minutes as the Dutchman won 6-2 – but that didn’t stop Anderson firing in a few maximums.
Nine were scored between the two in Germany, which makes the line offered at Liverpool look like a mere speck in comparison.
Lewis was sensational in blitzing Raymond van Barneveld 7-1 with a 113 average in week one, but gulped a large dose of his own medicine against Taylor last time out.
Facing the struggling Huybrechts, who is yet to claim a point and has lost by four and five legs respectively, gives Lewis the chance to assert his dominance again.
