Wimbledon: James Ward given Price Boost treatment for third round

Published:

James Ward is keeping Andy Murray company at Wimbledon for longer than most people would ever have imagined and the British star has been given the Price Boost treatment from Ladbrokes ahead of his third round clash with Vasek Pospisil.

Ward, ranked 101st, is the 7/4 underdog against the world number 56, but backing the Brit alongside the French duo of Gael Monfils and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga  looks the way to go thanks to this special.

James Ward, Gael Monfils & Jo-Wilfried Tsonga all to win @ 9/1

Tsonga has won 77 per cent of his matches on grass and will expect to improve that stat against Ivo Karlovic.

They have one won apiece from their two meetings to date but 36-year-old Karlovic’s legs will be heavy after a tough five-setter in the last round.

Monfils will have his work cut out to win just a second meeting in eight with countryman Gilles Simon but the betting suggests a closer affair than the head-to-heads, with both men priced at 10/11 to emerge victorious.

And, while Ward may be ranked 55 places lower that his Canadian opponent, but having won their only previous meeting in straight sets the 28-year-old will be confident of delivering in front of a packed partisan crowd at SW19.

Those three players aren’t the only ones getting the Ladbrokes Grand Slam Special treatment though, here are two more tasty trebles to consider.

Timea Bacsinszky, Camila Giorgi & Gabrine Muguruza all to win at least 1 set@ 9/2

 AND

Jelena Jankovic, Samuel Groth & Andreas Seppi all to win at least 1 set@ 28/1

With the sun shining, at least two Brits still in action and these great price enhancements it’s shaping up to be a weekend of Wimbledon wows for all concerned.
