Watford and West Ham target Obbi Oulare in London for talks

Strikers are set to be the focal point of this Transfer Deadline Day, and while it will be Charlie Austin that is likely to get the headlines, another frontman coming in for plenty of interest is Obbi Oulare.

Club Brugges’ 6ft 5in hitman has been a reported target for Austin’s current club QPR, but it now appears a move to the Premier League is in the offing.

Manchester United had been linked to the promising forward over the summer, while there has been plenty more interest in London and the south east.

Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur tweeted this morning that he is on his way to the English top flight, before going on to say that Watford looks his most likely target.

The Hornets have struggled for goals this season, despite their strike force of Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo looking a fearsome duo at the start of the campaign.

Quique Sanchez Flores’ men have netted just twice in four games, and could be set to improve their options with the arrival of the €7m rated Belgian.

But could the Vicarage Road outfit have competition from the east end of the capital?

West Ham are reportedly locked in talks to sign Tottenham’s Emannuel Adebayour on loan, but with Victor Moses looking close to arriving on a season-long deal from Chelsea, the Hammers will have reached their Premier League loan quota.

In that case the only way the Togolese striker could arrive would be on a permanent deal, and with his £100k-a-week wages potentially providing a stumbling block Slaven Bilic could yet be forced to look elsewhere.

Oulare is undoubtedly more about potential to what he has achieved just yet, but with eight goals last season, is certainly on the right track to forge a decent career for himself.

He is thought to be in the capital for talks this deadline day, but where he ends up remains to be seen.
