2015 Football Blogging Awards: Meet the finalists – We Love Betting

Published:

With a wealth of stats and information available to anyone looking to place a bet it can be difficult to know what the best selections are ahead of a football match. Thankfully the guys in the Ladbrokes News office often do the hard work for you but we’re not the only ones.

A number of experts and fledgling Stattos are willing to share their knowledge and do so via some top quality blogs.

These websites go above and beyond to meet our needs and it’s almost that time of year when the cream of the crop are recognised at the annual Football Blogging Awards.

The 2015 edition will soon take place in Manchester and Ladbrokes is getting behind the event by sponsoring the Best Gambling Football Blog award.

The finalists have all been named and we’ll be giving you the lowdown on each one between now and the big day.

Today we take a peek behind the scenes at We Love Betting…

Ladbrokes News: Describe your blog In a nutshell

We Love Betting: Launched just over a year ago We Love Betting is a fun site dedicated to the exciting world of betting. We provide betting previews on a whole range of events from Premier League football to the Tour de France and intersperse this with forward-thinking content focusing on stats, data and opinion pieces. We have a strong social following and deploy video content to offer our audience a transparent, friendly, authentic and free service.

LN: Describe a day in the life of a We Love Betting blogger

WLB: Just two people run the site so Mark O’Haire (@MarkOHaire) and Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) have a busy time of it creating content, organising and uploading the articles of fellow contributors and aspiring to run the most transparent, informative and friendly Twitter feed in the betting community seven days a week (@WeLoveBettingUK).

LN: Which story are you most proud of?

WLB: This summer we produced what we felt was the best online ante-post guide out there. We covered all four English and Scottish divisions in great depth in a preview that totalled over 40 stand-alone articles. Title winners, promotion, relegation, team-by-team profiles and much more were produced to great acclaim for our audience. The previous month we produced something similar for the Copa America and recruited the BBC’s Tim Vickery to lend his opinion.

LN:What would it mean to win the Best Gambling Football Blog 2015?

WLB: It would be a huge honour and make the tiring seven days a week work over the last 13 months worthwhile. For range of content and innovative thinking we think we deserve the honour.
