Ladbrokes Premiership: Hamilton’s happy travels continue at Tannadice

Martin Canning’s Hamilton Academical won for the third time in five Ladbrokes Premiership games on the road, to leave the South Lanarkshire club seven points above Kilmarnock in the relegation play-off.
Accies were 3-1 victors at Dundee United, and the visitors produced a terrific display. Grant Gillespie opened the scoring for the away side with a fierce strike, before Carlton Morris snaffled up a rebound to double their lead.
Norwich loanee Morris put the game out of sight with a third, before Simon Murray’s consolation strike gave Terrors fans something to cheer. This was Hamilton’s day, though, and the New Douglas Park club have now beaten both Dundee clubs in their last two fixtures.
Dundee had a better weekend than their city rivals this time out, though. Striking sensation Kane Hemmings was at the double in a 2-1 win at Partick Thistle, taking his Premiership total to 21 for the season.
It was a great weekend for the Highland clubs, as well. Ross County became only the second away side to grab a point at Celtic Park in 2016 as Stewart Murdoch cancelled out Leigh Griffiths’ 29th goal of an incredible season.
Inverness CT, meanwhile, came from behind to beat Kilmarnock, with Tansey, Draper and Williams turning the tide in a 3-1 victory for the Caley Jags.
Killie – who had ‘keeper Jamie McDonald sent off – will look to return to home comforts against Partick Thistle on Saturday, and the Ayrshire side did win their last home game 3-0 against St Johnstone.
Saints had their own 3-0 triumph on Friday night, as they seriously dented Aberdeen’s title hopes with a sensational display at McDiarmid Park.
The talented David Wotherspoon netted his ninth goal of this Ladbrokes Premiership campaign, before Steven MacLean and Liam Craig struck to help the fifth-placed side to a comfortable victory.
Motherwell, meanwhile, held off Saints in the fight for fourth spot as they took all three points against Hearts. Lionel Ainsworth scored the only goal of the game for the Well, to secure a sixth win in seven.
This weekend leaves Celtic with one hand on the trophy and Dundee United needing a minor miracle to stay up. Are both set to finish at either end of the Ladbrokes Premiership table, or are there more incredible twists and turns to come?
