Hamilton v Rangers tips: Gerrard’s men can edge another NDP thriller

Published:

Rangers visit Hamilton Academical this Sunday, with Steven Gerrard’s side looking for a first away win of the Ladbrokes Premiership campaign. And this could be their ideal chance to get it.

Accies have lost four of their last five matches. And they face a side who netted five times at New Douglas Park in the last meeting, back in February 2018.

Match Odds

The Gers have won five of the last six meetings, and are 2/7 to leave Lanarkshire with maximum points again. An Accies win is a hefty 11/1, with 17/4 for the Draw.

Clashes between this pair tend to produce a goal-fest. Four of the last five meetings have seen a whopping four or more scored, and it’s 17/10 for Over 3.5 Goals again.

Meanwhile, Rangers to Win and Both Teams to Score is a 23/10 shot. And Gerrard’s men are 11/1 to bag a third 3-1 victory on the spin – following wins over Rapid Wien and Heart of Midlothian.

Talking Tactics

Accies are usually a 3-5-2 outfit. The wily Darian MacKinnon is the backbone of the five-man midfield, with Scott Martin and Dougie Imrie out wide.

Rangers are likely to stick with the 4-3-3 which has served them well of late. There’s one enforced change, with Joe Worrall likely to replace the injured Nikola Katic.

Hamilton’s defence could be praying for the final whistle, with a talented front three of Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos and Daniel Candeias likely to start for the visitors.

Goalscorer Odds

Morelos is on fire right now, with the Colombian ace netting five in five. He’s a shade of odds-on at 19/20 to Score Anytime, while it’s 14/5 he bags Two or More Goals.

Meanwhile, Kent and Candeias are 2/1 apiece to hit the net in Hamilton.

For the home side, Mikkel Miller could be the biggest goal threat. He’s netted six times in all competitions this term, and is a sizeable 9/2 to register in this clash.
