Hull well placed for top-flight survival after play-off success

After a tense 90 minutes at Wembley, Hull City joined Burnley and Middlesbrough as the third team promoted to the Premier League.
Although they needed the lottery of the play-offs to secure their path back to the promised land, there’s a case to be made that Steve Bruce’s men are best placed of the trio to survive the drop.
The Tigers managed to keep the majority of the squad from last season’s Premier League campaign together and will only need a few additions to the playing staff this summer as a result.
Hull were only three points off safety when relegated in 2014/15 and finished two points ahead of Sean Dyche’s Burnley that year.
Curtis Davies, Michael Dawson, Tom Huddlestone and Abel Hernandez are just a few examples of top-flight calibre players that can be found almost anywhere on the pitch at the KC Stadium.
The latter notched 20 league goals for Bruce this season and will have benefitted tremendously from a gritty campaign in the Championship when he returns to the top-flight.
In his last experience of the highest division, the Uruguayan faded badly after an initial fast start. He scored three goals in his first five appearances for the Tigers, but added just one more over the remainder of the season.
Davies, Dawson and Huddlestone are seasoned campaigners, as are Jake Livermore, Mohamed Diame and Ahmed Elmohamady.
Adding a little bit of quality depth to those key faces will allow Hull to challenge further up the table this time around.
