Jurgen Klopp odds-on to never bring silverware to Liverpool

Published:

Jurgen Klopp is just 1/2 to never win a trophy while in charge of Liverpool, following his side’s second-half collapse at the hands of Sevilla in the Europa League Final.

The Spanish side overturned a 1-0 half-time deficit to win 3-1 in Basel, consigning Liverpool and their German coach to a second final defeat in half a season.

But for the optimists, impressed by reaching two showpieces in his short spell in charge, it’s 9/4 that Klopp does go on win a trophy with the Anfield club next season.

And in years to come, how will we look back on the former Dortmund boss’ time on Merseyside? We’re offering odds of 7/2 on Klopp landing Liverpool that long-awaited league title.

A European success is deemed somewhat unlikely by the bookies, with a Europa League victory at 33/1 and 66/1 for Klopp to repeat that famous night in Istanbul with a Champions League success.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Some will see reaching two cup finals in half a season as success, but the odds suggest Klopp will never be able to get Liverpool into the winners’ circle.”

With their season over, Klopp is set to spend the summer plotting, preparing and planning a fully-charged assault on the Premier League, with 9/1 available on the Reds finally ending their title drought next year.
