Frank Lampard new favourite to become next MK Dons manager

Published:

Frank Lampard could be set to jump straight into management with MK Dons, according to the latest odds.

The ex-Chelsea midfielder was only released by New York City FC earlier this week, but stated on social media that he would be announcing his next move shortly.

MK have been without a manager since parting ways with Karl Robinson, after six-and-a-half years under the Englishman.

Steve Cotterill is second in the betting for the Stadium mk dugout at 7/4, with Ryan Giggs 10/1 to be handed his first managerial role.

Like Lampard, Steven Gerrard also waved goodbye to MLS this week, and at 12/1 the bookies haven’t ruled him out of contention.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Plenty of names have been linked with the League One oufit.

“But just as he used to emerge undetected in opposition territory, Lampard has quietly appeared and beaten them all in the betting.”

Other names in the hat include former QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at 16s, with Mark Cooper at 25/1.

Among the many contenders deemed 33/1 shots are Darren Ferguson and Martin Jol.
