Craig Shakespeare is new favourite to be next Leicester manager

Published:

Craig Shakespeare is the new favourite to succeed Claudio Ranieri at Leicester, according to the latest odds.

The interim boss guided the reigning Premier League champions to a resounding 3-1 success over Liverpool last night.

And following that victory we’ve slashed the odds on Shakespeare getting the gig on a permanent basis, from 6/1 to 5/4 favourite.

It’s great news too for the wise punters who backed the 53-year-old when he drifted to 16/1 last week.

Meanwhile, previous favourite Nigel Pearson has drifted out from 4/5 to 9/2 in the last 24 hours or so, while Guus Hiddink has moved into second in the betting at 7/2.

Former Liverpool and Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has also been on the slide, falling from 3/1 to 5s.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “William Shakespeare himself couldn’t have written a better script than the Foxes’ last 18 months, but now his namesake is set to lead Leicester into the next chapter.”

The rejuvenated East Midlands outfit are back in action this weekend, where they’ll look to make it two wins on the spin at home to Hull City.

And our odds of 4/5 suggest the Foxes will do just that.
