Barcelona prepared to muscle in on Chelsea’s hopes for Dybala

Chelsea’s chances of signing Juventus striker Paulo Dybala this summer may be about to get a little more difficult, with Barcelona reportedly keen.

Dybala has netted 14 goals for the Old Lady this term, and Chelsea are believed to have sounded out the 23-year-old as a potential replacement for Diego Costa.

After a falling out with the Blues earlier this season, rumours that Costa will leave Stamford Bridge this summer continue to persist.

But according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are also considering a summer deal for the Argentine.

The Catalans may have one eye on the fact that both Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi will be 30 by the time next season begins.

Real Madrid have been linked with the centre-forward in recent weeks, but Barcelona’s emergence adds a new element to this transfer tussle.

Dybala’s current contract in Turin lasts until 2020, and with a valuation at £38.25m by transfermarkt.co.uk, he certainly won’t come cheap.

And there’s a good chance the striker may stay put too, with Dybala and Juve in negotiations over a new agreement.

It’s believed the Old Lady are ready to hand their star forward a sizeable pay rise, in addition to the revered number 10 shirt, previously worn by club legends Alessandro Del Piero and Michel Platini.
