Newcastle United favourites to sign Jamie Vardy from Leicester

He stayed loyal to Leicester City last summer, but Jamie Vardy’s time as a Foxes striker could be coming to an end – with Newcastle United the most likely destination.
This weekend’s press claim the Leicester owners are unhappy with the striker this season, and feel he is over-paid and under-performing.
The England international isn’t the only player the owners are believed to be unhappy with, but he is certainly the headline name.
And our traders have priced up Newcastle as 9/2 favourites to sign the 30-year-old striker.
That move may depend on the Magpies securing promotion to the Premier League, but should they do so, snapping up Vardy would go a long way to ensuring their survival next season.
Everton are next at 5/1, but that price will surely shorten should the Toffees be forced into selling Romelu Lukaku this summer.
And Arsenal, who exercised the £20m release clause in Vardy’s contract with a bid last year, are 6/1 to make a successful attempt this time around.
West Ham are also a 6/1 shot, and it’s widely believed the Hammers are seeking to splash out on at least one striker this summer.
It’s 8/1 Vardy heads east to join a side in the Chinese Super League, with 10/1 on offer he heads to Anfield to join Liverpool.
And rounding out the betting are Tottenham, who are 12/1 to bring Vardy in to team-up with international colleague Harry Kane.
