Bradford City favourites for League One Play-Off Glory

Published:

Two sides may have finished above them in the final League One table, but our traders still make Bradford City clear favourites to win promotion to the Championship via the play-offs.

A draw away to Rochdale on the final day of the season ensured Stuart McCall’s men would face Fleetwood Town for a place in the final.

It’s a side they’ve both beaten and lost to this season, but the Trawlermen head into this one unbeaten in their last four – above City in the table.

Elsewhere, an 85th minute strike from Sam Hutchinson for MIllwall against Bristol Rovers meant they secured themselves sixth place in the table, setting them up for a clash with Scunthorpe United, who finished the season four points off an automatic spot and nine ahead of their upcoming opponents.

However, it’s the Lions who head into this clash as the more likely victors, with 11/5 currently on offer for them to find themselves in the second tier of English football next summer.

That means they’re second-favourites behind Bradford, while Scunthorpe themselves remain 10/3 shots while Fleetwood are out at 4/1.

A win for Southend United at home to Bury wasn’t enough to secure themselves a place in the top six following Millwall’s late victory.

So now we know the remaining sides battling it out for a place in the Championship. The question is: who’ll make it there?

Despite finish bottom of this quartet, our money would be on Millwall at 11/5. So often has it been the case over the duration of the the season that Neil Harris’ men have somehow got the job done – and we’d hardly be surprised to see them progress to a Wembley showdown.
