Sheffield United now just 1/3 to make capture of Oxford lynchpin

Bramall Lane - Sheffield United

Club captain at just 23-years-old, it’s fair to say John Lundstram is a beloved figure at Oxford United. But fans of the U’s must now adjust to life without the midfielder, who looks all-but-certain to join Sheffield United this summer.

There’s just 1/3 on offer for the youngster to head to Bramall Lane this summer – and based on his time in the South-West, the midfield ace looks like quite an acquisition.

Arguably the club’s most important performer since joining in 2015, the Liverpudlian has played 104 times for the Kassam Stadium club, netting three times and setting up four goals as the U’s won promotion from League Two in his first season.

He dealt superbly with the step up to the third-tier last term, captaining the Yellows to an impressive third-place finish. And with the former Everton prodigy improving year on year, the step up to the Championship certainly looks manageable for him.

With £500k reportedly needed for this move, it would surely represent a very savvy bit of business from the Blades.

Having already added talented performers like Richard Stearman, Enda Stevens and the returning Ched Evans to their ranks this summer, we’re certainly not ruling out the 9/1 for newly-promoted United to do the double-bounce.
