Melbourne Darts Masters: Anderson 3/1 but Aussie duo hold appeal

The Melbourne Darts Masters gets underway in Australia tomorrow, and as usual there are three men that head the betting above all the others.
At the top of the tree are Gary Anderson, Phil Taylor and Peter Wright.
Of those three it is Taylor that makes most appeal at 3/1.
Wright (7/2) and Anderson (9/4) both failed to make it through to the second round of the Auckland Masters last week, losing in the first round to Kyle Anderson and Corey Cadby respectively.
Meanwhile, Taylor narrowly came unstuck against Cadby in the semi-final but has shown some impressive form in 2017.
The 16-time World Champion won the World Matchplay in Blackpool last month and loves the Masters events in Australia.
He won back-to-back Perth Masters titles in 2014 and 2015 and will relish the opportunity to play in front a huge crowd at the inaugural Melbourne Masters this weekend.
The Power will face competition though, and we like Daryl Gurney at 14/1 to cause an upset.
Superchin has been in sensational form this year and reached the final of the US Masters in July, narrowly losing out to Michael van Gerwen.
Van Gerwen isn’t competing in Australia however, freeing up Gurney for a tilt at a first Masters crown.
The Northern Irishman fears no one and has already beaten all of his compatriots on the PDC circuit this year.
If he can maintain his form of the last two months, 14s could start to look a steal.
Of the Oceanic players it’s hard to look past Kyle Anderson and Corey Cadby once more.
Cadby is 14/1 to go one step further than last week’s final defeat and claim his first significant tournament victory
At just 22-years-old The King has plenty to give and a first round match-up against a lacklustre Raymond van Barneveld should provide no problems for the Tasmania-born thrower.
Anderson won last week’s Auckland Masters with a scintillating 11-10 victory over Cadby and we make him an overpriced 20/1 to repeat the feat this weekend.
