Odds slashed on Arsenal bagging Atletico Madrid ace Griezmann

Arsenal may be in danger of losing Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window, but there could be a silver lining for Gunners fans. That’s because odds have been slashed on the club signing Antoine Griezmann.

The 26-year-old had been 10/1 to make the Emirates Stadium his next home. However, those odds have taken a cut to 4/1 overnight, following France teammate Alexandre Lacazette’s announcement that he intends to convince Griezmann to join Arsenal.

That blows the market wide open, with the Gunners now second favourites behind only Manchester United (2/1).

Chelsea are third in the running at 5/1, with Real Madrid 7/1 shots to lure the player across the Spanish capital.

Having chalked up 86 goals in 167 games for Los Colchoneros, there are no shortage of sides interested – but it’s the Gunners who are making the moves in the market right now.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Wenger may have to accept he’ll lose two of his key men in the next few months, but the latest odds suggest Griezmann may just soften that blow by agreeing to trade Atleti for Arsenal.”
