Liverpool eyeing former midfielder as Coutinho replacement

| 14.11.2017

Liverpool reportedly have AC Milan’s Suso in their sights as a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho.

The Reds turned down three huge offers from Barcelona for Coutinho during the summer. But the playmaker continues to be linked with a big-money move to Camp Nou.

Barcelona are now rumoured to be preparing a £120m bid for Coutinho in January. If Liverpool do sell, Suso could return as his replacement.

The 23-year-old left Anfield to join AC Milan for just €1.3m two years ago. His value has shot up since then and Liverpool are understood to be ready to offer £35m to trigger his release clause.

Suso has shone during his time in Italy, even though Milan have underperformed. The former Spain Under-21 international is the club’s top scorer with five goals in Serie A this season.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently fifth in the Premier League, three points outside the top four. They face Southampton at home in their next outing.
