Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is in pole position to replace Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.

Pochettino’s side blew the European champions away in a 3-1 win at Wembley on Wednesday night.

Spurs’ display will have impressed those in charge at Madrid. And Pochettino is now just 5/1 to replace Zidane at the Bernabeu.

Zidane is under increasing pressure after two defeats in a row. He’s 6/4 to be sacked before the end of the season.

The Madrid manager has led the club to two Champions League titles and a La Liga triumph during his time in charge.

But his team have made a poor start to this season. They’re already eight points behind Barcelona in the league. Now it looks like they’re going to finish second in their Champions League group.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “If last night was Poch’s Madrid audition, he passed with flying colours. And with Zidane treading a thin line right now, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a new man in the dugout in the Spanish capital.”
