A new season of Premier League Darts gets underway from Dublin on Thursday with five fascinating tungsten tussles.

Michael van Gerwen takes on world champion Rob Cross in the pick of the games, as no fewer than five arrow slingers make their competition debut.

Check out our preview for every game, including tips and a tasty 55/1 acca…

Mensur Suljovic to beat Simon Whitlock

Mensur Suljovic warmed up for his Premier League debut with a run to the semi-finals of the Masters at the weekend.

The Austrian fared much better than Simon Whitlock who was dumped out at the first round stage by James Wade.

Suljovic is the 10/11 favourite to beat his Australian opponent over the legs format for the fifth match in a row.

The 45-year-old often starts slowly and makes appeal to win 7-4 on debut at 5/1.

Gary Anderson to beat Michael Smith

The second game of the night pitches the master against the apprentice.

Gary Anderson has suffered from back problems of late but should have enough to see off the inconsistent Michael Smith at 8/13.

He’s beaten Bully Boy in eight of their 10 meetings. In the last three of those, the Flying Scotsman has advanced by a margin of three legs or more each time.

He’s 10/11 in the -2.5 Handicap and 13/2 to triumph 7-3.

Raymond van Barneveld to beat Daryl Gurney

Barney has played with renewed vigour in his last two TV tournaments.

He reached the quarter-final of the World Championships in December and was beaten in the final of the Masters last Sunday.

Against Daryl Gurney, whom he beat over the extended format in Perth last year, the Dutchman is backed to prevail at 5/4.

In a game between two power scorers, we also like the look of a 1st Leg 180 at even-money.

If Gurney freezes on his Premier League debut, Barney could also be worth a punt at 7/1 to be King of the Oche.

Michael van Gerwen to beat Rob Cross

Two world champions collide in the penultimate game of the evening.

Cross memorably beat van Gerwen at Alexandra Palace in December but is yet to see off the Dutchman over the legs format.

MVG returned to form with victory in Milton Keynes at the weekend and is well-priced to kick his Premier League title defence off with a win at 8/13.

However, van Gerwen is often a slow starter. And that should allow Cross to nick the first leg of the contest at 19/10.

The Green Machine also makes appeal to edge the contest 7-5 at 7/1.

Peter Wright v Gerwyn Price – Draw

Scotland takes on Wales in the final game of the evening as Peter Wright faces Gerwyn Price.

These two players have been in contrasting form of late which makes the Draw a tempting shout at 4/1.

With a close game expected, Over 10.5 Legs could come in at 4/7, while a First Leg 180 makes sense at 11/10.

If you like all of our outright tips for tonight’s games (Suljovic, Anderson, Barneveld, Van Gerwen and Wright v Price – Draw) you can back them in an acca at 55/1!
