PL Darts Tips: Victories for Wright and MVG plus a 9/1 Oche Acca

Peter Wright Premier League Darts

The Premier League road show heads to Exeter this evening ahead of a busy weekend of oche action in the UK Open at Minehead.

Michael Smith remains top of the pile after another impressive victory last week in Berlin. He takes on Raymond van Barneveld this evening. The action gets underway with a titanic tussle between Gary Anderson and Rob Cross.

After tipping up a 10/1 accumulator last week, we’ve put together five more previews complete with tips, as well as another 9/1 Oche Acca…

Gary Anderson v Rob Cross – Draw

Two of the world’s most explosive players go head-to-head in the opening game of the night.

Cross made it back-to-back victories last week with a 7-3 success over van Barneveld while Anderson chalked up five 180s and a 105.25 average in his draw with Peter Wright.

On that kind of form and over a short format, these two look as though they could cancel each-other out in the South-West.

The Draw is available at 3/1, with a First Leg 180 odds-on at 4/5.

Peter Wright to beat Daryl Gurney

Peter Wright has averaged over 100.00 in each of the last three weeks. Yet his performances have brought just four points from a possible eight available.

Against Daryl Gurney, who has yet to win in the Premier League, we think the Scotsman should rack up a first victory since Week Two.

Snakebite is 8/11 to prevail outright. You can get 13/2 about a 7-4 Wright victory and 2/1 for 47-year-old to bag a First Leg 180.

Michael van Gerwen to beat Mensur Suljovic

Michael van Gerwen is back in form. The Dutchman has won two in a row and boasts the league’s highest checkout percentage at 48.15%.

He’s won five of his last six matches against Mensur Suljovic and has the quality to make that six from seven in Exeter.

It should be a close game, though. The Austrian is one of only three players with a combined average above 100.00 from his games so far.

MVG is 2/9 to win outright, with a 7-4 victory available at 6/1. He’s even-money to be King of the Oche.

Michael Smith to beat Raymond van Barneveld

No-one would’ve predicted Smith being top of the Premier League after four weeks.

Bully Boy made it four wins from four against Simon Whitlock in Berlin last week.

The 27-year-old has a tendency to take advantage against the throw and will fancy his chances against a below-par van Barneveld.

Smith is 7/5 to claim the spoils, with a 7-4 success available at 9/1. The Englishman has won by a margin of five legs and four legs in his last two matches. He’s 7/5 on the -1.5 Handicap.

Simon Whitlock to beat Gerwyn Price

Simon Whitlock suffered his first defeat of the season against Smith seven days ago.  But the Wizard should be able to bounce back against the disappointing Gerwyn Price tonight.

The Welshman has struggled in his debut Premier League campaign and remains winless after four matches.

He’s lost his last two against the Aussie and could find it tough again tonight against the in-form 48-year-old.

Price has lost two of his four matches so far by a 7-3 scoreline. It’s 17/2 for a repeat outcome this evening. You can also back Whitlock at 11/10 in the outright market.

This week’s Oche Acca is Wright, van Gerwen, Smith and Whitlock to Win at 9.64/1!
