John Terry 2/1 for shock return to Aston Villa

Published:

Despite seemingly being on the cusp of a move to Spartak Moscow in recent days, it now seems John Terry could be heading to a more familiar destination – Villa Park.

The 37-year-old is now just 2/1 to rejoin the Villans and reunite with boss Steve Bruce.

Terry spent last season at Villa Park, playing 36 times and captaining the Birmingham giants as they came within a whisker of promotion to the Premier League.

Many were surprised that the veteran didn’t sign an extension at Villa during the summer.

But with Bruce’s side having shipped 11 goals in their first six Championship games this season, the manager could call upon former England ace Terry once again.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Only two sides have conceded more than Villa in the Championship this season so it’s no surprise to see John Terry’s odds of a return priced so low.”

Next up for the Villans is a trip to Ewood Park on Saturday. Bruce’s side are 33/20 to return home with maximum points.
