Fulham’s defensive disasters this term are no secret. But it now seems the Cottagers could be on the cusp of a solution, by snapping up a pair of Chelsea aces.
The latest odds make Gary Cahill just 1/6 to make the short journey across West London, with Danny Drinkwater 1/3 to head in the same direction.
Those prices see Fulham way ahead in the betting for both men, with Cahill – reportedly an Arsenal target – now as long as 4/1 to get with the Gunners.
With both men boasting Premier League titles and England experience, this could be a huge shot in the arm for the Cottagers’ survival hopes. As it stands, they’re 11/8 to stay up.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Ranieri could do with adding a few new faces to his ranks and the latest odds suggest he may turn to former club Chelsea for help.”
