La Liga Preview: Will Real Madrid get back on track at Sevilla?

We’re at the halfway stage of the La Liga campaign now, with Barcelona sitting five points clear at the top of the table.

The race for the top four looks much tighter at the moment. Sevilla and Real Madrid are both locked on 33 points in third and fourth respectively. They face each other this weekend, with fifth-placed Alaves looking to leapfrog the loser.

It’s all set for a huge game at the Bernabeu, which is where we start this week’s La Liga preview.

Real Madrid v Sevilla

Sevilla have won the last two games between these sides. But they were both at home. But Madrid have won 12 of the last 13 meetings between the two clubs in their own back garden.

The European champions have only won two of their last five outings, but they’re still 7/10 favourites here.

Sevilla have lost both of their last two outings without scoring. It’s 5/2 for a home win to nil.

Karim Benzema is 4/1 favourite to get the opener, while Wissam Ben Yedder is 13/8 to score against the European champions for a third game running.

Barcelona v Leganes

Leganes shocked Barcelona 2-1 at home in September. They beat Real Madrid in the cup in midweek too. But our traders can’t see Barca getting complacent here at 1/12.

The champions are 21/20 on the -2 Handicap, with a fourth straight league win to nil at home for 3/4.

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez both netted in the club’s previous two league outings. Messi’s 2/1 to get the first goal here, with Suarez rated 5/2.

SD Huesca v Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid don’t have any room for error now. They need to keep picking up maximum points to catch Barcelona. Diego Simeone’s side are 7/10 to do just that here.

Their only previous meeting ended in a 3-0 win to Atleti back in September. A repeat of that scoreline is a 12/1 shot.

One man in red-hot form is Antoine Griezmann. He’s netted in six games running. We go 11/10 that he keeps his streak going in this one.
