England v Iceland Euro 2024 warm-up friendly preview
Published:
On June 7, Wembley Stadium will once again play host to a thrilling international friendly between England and Iceland. This isn't just any friendly, though. It's the final warm-up match for the Three Lions before they embark on their Euro 2024 campaign, and they'll be looking to make a statement.
The game will allow several players on the fringes of the camp, such as Curtis Jones, Ebereci Eze and Adam Wharton to stake their claim to being included in the final 26-man squad, with seven men to be cut before Euro 2024 officially kicks off.
England are the favourites for Euro 2024, but they'll still want to make a statement with a win over Iceland, who haven't even qualifying, reminding the rest of the competition of why their chances are deemed to be so high.

England v Iceland preview & betting odds
Ladbrokes now previews Friday night's game between England and Iceland, and our first takeaway is that fans shouldn't expect to see too many goals...
If there's one thing England has been known for in recent years, it's their consistency in home games with under 3.5 goals. All 14 of their last home matches have followed this trend, and with Iceland's last 17 away games also falling under this bracket, it's a safe bet that we won't be seeing a goal fest at Wembley.
For what it's worth, at the time of writing, you can back under 3.5 goals to be scored at Wembley on Friday with odds of 3/4.
England has had a fairly successful track record against Iceland, with four wins out of their six meetings. However, the most memorable encounter between these two sides was undoubtedly at Euro 2016, when Iceland pulled off a shocking 2-1 victory over England in the round of 16. The Three Lions will be eager to avoid a repeat of that fateful night and prove their dominance on home soil.
England are a much better side now than they were in 2016, and they're currently 1/8 to continue their good form after beating Bosnia on Monday night by picking up the victory over Iceland on Friday evening.

England v Iceland team news
Gareth Southgate has a wealth of talent at his disposal, and with the Euros just around the corner, he'll be looking to fine-tune his squad and tactics. The likes of Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, and Jude Bellingham will be chomping at the bit to make an impact and secure their places in the starting lineup for the Euros.
Iceland, on the other hand, will be missing some key players, including Alfreð Finnbogason, Albert Guðmundsson and birkir Bjarnason This could limit their goal-scoring threat, making it even more challenging for them to break down England's solid defence.
