England Euro 2024 squad: Bookies reveal most likely 23-man line-up

The England Euro 2024 squad isn’t too far from being announced, with players across the country hoping to do enough to either consolidate their spot in Gareth Southgate’s 23-man line-up, or sneak in at the very last minute.
England play their final friendly game tomorrow night before the squad is announced, against Belgium at Wembley.
Ahead of the big fixture, where fans are expected to learn more about how Southgate is likely to line-up his starting XI for England at Euro 2024, Ladbrokes looks at who the bookies predicts will be the 23 men selected to travel to Germany with the Three Lions.
Ahead of Southgate’s official squad announcement, Ladbrokes looks what the bookies think the former Middlesbrough manager’s final 23-man line-up is going to look like when he picks his team to travel to Germany, starting with the men between the sticks.

- GK – Aaron Ramsdale – 1/4
The bookies are of the belief that Pickford, Johnstone and Ramsdale will be England’s three goalkeepers on the plane to Germany this summer, and it’s hard to argue with that logic.
Nick Pope (7/2) hasn’t played since December 2023, and it’s unclear when he’s expected to be fit enough to return to Newcastle’s starting XI, meaning that this tournament could come too soon for him in terms of his recovery.
James Trafford (7/1) was added to the most recent squad after the withdrawal of Johnstone through injury, but the former Man City youth prospect isn’t expected to get into the final 23-man line-up this summer.

The bookies expect England to take three right-backs to Euro 2024, in the form of Walker, Trent and Trippier. However, Southgate has shown a willingness to play Alexander-Arnold as an outright midfielder over the last few fixtures, so perhaps that’s something he picks up in Germany (more on that later).
As for the centre-backs, Stones and Maguire will be almost definitely travelling to the tournament, but the bookies think that Gomez, Branthwaite and Guehi will also be selected, ahead of Levi Colwill (5/4) and Lewis Dunk (6/5) and Ezri Konsa (6/4).
A notable omission is Luke Shaw (6/4), who like Pope, is out with an injury right now which might rule him out of an inclusion in Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad. Also, with both Gomez and Trippier able to play left-back, the bookies clearly think Southgate doesn’t need a recognised left-back in the squad, with Chilwell also missing out.

Rice, Bellingham and Trent are expected to be England’s starting midfielders, whilst Gallagher, Maddison and Henderson will be waiting in the wings in case of injury or the need for rotation.
Also getting the nod is Kobbie Mainoo (4/7) who was a late addition into the most recent England squad following his world class performance for Man United in their 4-3 FA Cup quarter-final win over Liverpool.
That could change if Mainoo fails to impresses for the remainder of the season, but as of now, the bookies think he just sneaks into Southgate’s 23-man squad, ahead of the likes of Kalvin Phillips (3/1), Curtis Jones (9/2) and Eberechi Eze (9/4).

Foden, Kane and Saka are expected to be England’s starting front three this summer after incredibly impressive performances for their respective clubs this season. Rashford, Palmer and Watkins are also expected to be included in the squad, but who misses out?
Jack Grealish (4/6) and Jarrod Bowen (1/1) are expected to narrowly miss out on the England squad, according to the bookies. The same can be said for Ivan Toney (4/6), who the bookies think won’t be on the plane to Germany, despite being included in the most recent squad.
