Football acca tips for Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday’s FA Cup action

It’s the first weekend of January, which spells the return of the FA Cup and to mark the occasion, here are our tips…

In a repeat from their 1-1 draw at Anfield on December 23, Liverpool travel to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon to take on an Arsenal side who are without a win since their convincing 2-0 victory over Brighton on December 17 in the Premier League.

The match is, of course, included in this weekend’s football acca tips, which can be backed in a seven-fold acca to 27.75/1.

Tottenham v Burnley

We kick things off with an all-Premier League tie between Tottenham and Vincent Kompany’s Burnley.

Whilst Burnley have been starting to get results in the league as of late, as well as narrowly missing out on an impressive point against Aston Villa in their final game of 2023, it’s hard to look past Tottenham for a win here at 4/9,

Ange Postecoglu was handed his first loss at Spurs boss in the second round of the Carabao Cup in August after a 5-3 defeat on penalties at the hands of Fulham. The former Celtic manager will be hoping for a better run at domestic cup football this time around, so we’ll kick off with that market.

Fulham v Rotherham

Marco Silva would have been licking his lips when his Fulham side, who are Carabao Cup semi-finalists in their own right, were drawn against Championship side Rotherham in the third round of the FA Cup, and we head to Craven Cottage for the next round of our acca.

Fresh off a 2-1 win over Arsenal, Fulham will look to continue their good form with a win over Rotherham, who sit at the bottom of the Championship table, having won only three of their opening 26 games in the league this game, and are priced at 2/11 to do so.

Chelsea v Preston

From one Carabao Cup semi-finalist to another, Chelsea will be fancying their chances against Championship side Preston North End on Saturday, but we’d rather focus on the goals market for this one.

Chelsea scored 13 goals in eight games in December, and we’re continuing this acca by picking up to score over 1.5 goals on Saturday at the price of 2/9.

With Cole Palmer playing the best football of his young career so far, and Preston conceding 16 goals last month, including five in a loss to Watford, it’s hard to look past Chelsea running away with this one.

Man City v Huddersfield

Reigning FA Cup champions Man City will kick off their campaign attempting to retain their title at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon when they host Huddersfield, who sit in 21st place in the Championship this season.

We’re expecting utter domination from Pep Guardiola’s side this weekend, so much so that we’re selecting them to win both halves in our FA Cup acca at the price of 1/2.

Arsenal v Liverpool

Arsenal go into their game with Liverpool winless in their last three games, which Mikel Arteta will be hoping come sot an end at the Emirates on Sunday when he hosts Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side, who are already through to the semi-final of the Carabao Cup, England’s other domestic club competition.

Top of the Premier League too, we’re backing Liverpool to continue their form with a ‘Double Chance’ bet for Klopp’s side to either win or draw away from home at the price of 3/4.

Wrexham v Shrewsbury

Wrexham sit in third place in League Two this season, and we’re picking them to knock Shrewsbury Town, who are in 14th place in League One at the price of 11/10.

Despite being in the league below Shrewsbury, Wrexham are actually seen as the favourites to win on Sunday, and given that they’ve scored 52 goals and conceded 36 in the league so far, expect a high-scoring affair.

Man United v Wigan

We finish off our acca at League One side Wigan, who host Manchester United on Monday evening.

Just like the Man City and Hudderfield pick, the gulf in class between the sides will likely be too much for Wigan to handle, so we’re picking Man United to win both halves at the price of 6/4, despite them not being in the best of form themselves.
