Wales v Belarus betting tips and odds

Wales take on Belarus safe in the knowledge they have already secured a play-off spot thanks to their Nations League success, although it was only confirmed by Spain’s win against Greece on Thursday night.

Rob Page’s side are level on points with second-placed Czech Republic but have a game in hand, though they conclude their campaign against the world’s top-ranked team Belgium.

The Welsh are 1/5 to win in Cardiff, but let’s look at some of the other options for Saturday’s Wales v Belarus betting tips.

Match Odds

The Dragons will once again be relying on the magic of Gareth Bale whose hat-trick and last-minute winner against Belarus two months ago secured a dramatic 3-2 victory in Russia, although he has not played since tearing a hamstring a few days after the goalless draw with Estonia on September 8.

The hosts are 12/5 to win and concede once again, though bottom-of-the-table Belarus have lost all three away games without scoring, including a 2-0 defeat in Estonia.

That does not bode well for the visitors who have lost six of their seven group games and are 7/10 to lose without scoring once again in our Wales v Belarus betting tips.

Wales have won five of their six meetings with Belarus, all of which came by one-goal margins, so we go 27/10 on that outcome, while a 1-0 victory can be backed at 5/1.

Four of Belarus’ five group defeats were either 1-0 or 2-0, so Wales to win and under 2.5 match goals looks an interesting option at 2/1.

Talking Tactics

Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen are all fit, so Page has decisions to make about the shape of his side, but striker Kieffer Moore is suspended.

Real Madrid attacker Bale will make his 100th appearance for his country in Cardiff and it will be a 70th for Ramsey.

Belarus played five at the back in a 5-4-1 in September’s game and are likely to go with a similar formation this weekend.

Goalscorer Odds

Bale is the 23/10 favourite to break the deadlock, 8/11 to score any time or 16/5 to score at least twice, while another hat-trick is available at 12/1 in our Wales v Belarus betting tips.

Ramsey and Dan James were both on target in the 2-2 draw against the Czechs last month and are 5/1 and 4/1 respectively to net the game’s opening goal or 9/5 and 7/5 to find the net.

Vitaly Lisakovic scored the equaliser from the penalty spot when the sides met in Kazan and is 16/1 and 11/2 in the two options, while Pavel Sedko is 13/2 to get on the scoresheet again.
