Brentford manager Thomas Frank has seen numerous former players achieve their Premier League dream but has never been part of a club promoted via the play-offs after nine failed attempts.

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins and West Ham winger Said Benrahma are the latest players to move to the top flight, but Brentford have yet to take the final step as a club.

Their opponents Swansea are the 18/5 underdogs to reach the Premier League, while the west Londoners are 10/11 to win the Championship play-off final. at Wembley

It should be a tense affair at Wembley and we’ve examined some of the odds for our Swansea v Brentford betting tips.

Match Odds

Brentford came out on top the last time they met Swansea in the play-offs in the 2019-20 semi-final only to lose to Fulham in the final as  they try to make it 10th time lucky in the play-offs this time around.

During their two regular-season meetings in the recently0completed campaign both games ended 1-1 which is available at 5/1, while the odds on a draw are 9/4.

With the likes of leading scorers Ivan Toney (Brentford) and Andre Ayew (Swansea) on show – they have an impressive 49 goals between them this season – a 2-2 draw is on offer at 18/1.

And with such scoring talent at their disposal goals are expected to flow with Brentford at 11/8 to be the first team to score in the first half while Swansea are 3/1.

Brentford to lead at half-time is 13/8, the draw at the interval is 10/11 and Swansea to come out on top by the break is 4/1.

Talking Tactics

Frank opted for a 3-4-1-2 formation for the semi-final second leg which saw Brentford come out on top 3-1 for a 3-2 aggregate triumph which owed much to the dismissal of Bournemouth defender Chris Mepham.

Toney’s penalty led the fightback and he is likely to be paired up front with Bryan Mbeumo against Swansea, who are expected to stick with the side that drew 1-1 with Barnsley which secured a 2-1 aggregate success.

Manager Steve Cooper chose a 4-3-3 formation against the Tykes, but in the absence of injured winger  Wayne Routledge he will have to find someone else to accompany Ayew and Jamal Lowe in attack.

Goalscorer Odds

Toney is favoured to add to his prolific tally this season and is available at 5/2 to score the first goal while Mbuemo is 11/2.

Marcus Forss can be backed at 5/1 to open the scoring and Sergi Canos at 11/2 like Mbuemo.

Ayew is seen as Swansea’s biggest goal threat and is available at 11/2 while Lowe comes in at 13/2.
